As evidenced by our recent investment in new technology – website, smart tills – the Guild has no intention of resting on its laurels and is enthused by the potential for growth and resulting provision of enhanced support that we are hoping to provide during the next five years.

 

Membership

We are actively seeking more members to join the Guild, be they people with connections to Barts or those who simply wish to support our work. In the last few years membership has broadly doubled thanks to the recruitment of medical student members and we intend to continue to expand as we move towards the Hospital’s 900th anniversary.

 

Donations, Legacies, Corporate Support & Grants

The Guild wants to award a larger number of grants, to increase the value of donations that we receive and to attract more corporate supporters.

 

Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry

Recent discussions between the Guild and the School have been extremely positive and during the next couple of years the Guild wishes to strengthen our relationship with Barts medical students. Currently all students are entitled to free membership of the Guild and we are looking to build upon our recent initiative that has enabled us to provide some financial support to a number of students suffering hardship.

 

Events

Longer term, and with an increase in membership, the Guild hopes to explore the possibility of hosting a series of events for members and friends that could include concerts and lectures, plus other events to impart a greater understanding about the way Barts is undertaking cutting edge research and delivering state-of-the-art care in the 21st century.
