Guild President Honoured

July 4th, 2016

In a ceremony at London’s Mansion House this afternoon, Guild president Ann Wickham’s 50 years of dedicated voluntary service to Barts Guild was recognised by The League of Mercy. Ann received the prestigious Badge of the Order of Mercy, which is awarded to just 25 nominated individuals each year and is presented for outstanding volunteer service.

The League of Mercy’s president Lord Lingfield praised Ann’s “extraordinary work for the welfare of others and those most in need” adding that she is a “marvellous example of someone whose long-standing and voluntary dedication is noteworthy and remarkable”.

Ann was naturally delighted to receive the award, and said she was “honoured and very proud to have been recommended by the Guild” and that it was “very humbling and inspirational to speak to other recipients about the volunteering work they did to help so many worthy causes” after the ceremony.
