A few enthusiasts and Barts Guild supporters held a classic car and military vehicle event at an old nuclear bunker at Kelvedon Hatch in Essex at the end of June.

The funds raised are for the benefit of the Guild and we are very grateful to the attendees and the organisers for putting so much work and effort into this event.

There were banners flying to promote the Guild and leaflets available explaining what the Guild does.

It was an extremely hot weekend and while the event did not attract a large crowd, those who attended, including Trustee and Hon. Treasurer of the Guild, Jean Stevenson, and her husband Michael, enjoyed a great time.

Jean had a terrifying tour (pictured) round the outside of the bunker in the sidecar of a Russian IZh-49 and an exhilarating ride in a souped-up hybrid Saab Convertible, whilst her husband played with some guns.

There was also a moving service and tribute from the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders Pipe Band.

Well done to the organisers – we hope that you do it again!
