Afternoon Tea at Browns

August 4th, 2025

Last week, the Guild welcomed over twenty of our volunteers to Browns in Butlers Wharf – on the banks of the Thames in the shadow of Tower Bridge – and treated them to afternoon tea as a ‘thank you’ for their dedication and work in the Guild Shop and taking the Trolley around the wards at Barts.

It gave everyone the chance to catch up socially and for the newer volunteers the opportunity to meet the team for the first time. There was a wonderful atmosphere as the tea flowed and sandwiches and cakes were consumed!

The volunteers really enjoyed being ‘taken out for tea’ and we’re very grateful to them for contributing to the care and wellbeing of patients, staff and visitors at the Hospital.

WOULD YOU LIKE TO JOIN THEM?

The Guild is actively looking for new volunteers – especially for the Trolley service – to join us in making a difference at St Bartholomew’s Hospital and we’d be delighted to talk to you if you’re interested. You can also see what some of our volunteers say about working for the Guild in Volunteer Voices.
